Terminal 1, Varna Airport

Terminal 1 of Varna Airport is a significant historical structure located near the town of Aksakovo, approximately 10 kilometers from the center of Varna, Bulgaria.

Constructed in 1972, the terminal served as the primary passenger facility for over four decades, accommodating both domestic and international flights.

The building featured 21 check-in counters, six security checkpoints, and ten boarding gates, along with amenities such as cafes, duty-free shops, and a VIP lounge.

In August 2013, following the inauguration of the modern Terminal 2, Terminal 1 was closed to regular passenger operations after 41 years of service.

While no longer in active use, the terminal remains a notable example of mid-20th-century airport architecture and a testament to Varna’s aviation history.
